My SXSW 2018 FireFly Rocket TV Interview
SXSW 2018 was interesting and as expected, very much the same and yet very much different than any other year. I enjoy going to SXSW because you just never know what you’re going to get.
This year I was interviewed by TV Station KXAN while I was chatting with the FireFly Space team to learn more about their rockets.
The SXSW Trade Show is a Hidden Gem
This year’s surprise at the Trade Show was exhibitor FireFly Aerospace. FireFly is a new, private rocket building firm located right here in my home town of Cedar Park, Texas (a suburb of Austin, Texas).
FireFly had a large presence at this year’s SXSW trade show, displaying their rocket engines, live feed of an engine test, and a 1/12th scale model of their rocket. I spoke with Firefly’s Robert Levy, a Design Engineer with FireFly who provided a very interesting overview of their firm.
While there, I was recorded by TV Station KXAN, and our segment appeared on the 10pm news.
