Recently, MultiChannel Merchant magazine published the 2nd part of my 2 part article on ultra-simple usability eCommerce tips. The article is titled: 5 More Ultra-Simple Usability eCommerce Sales Tips and as an added bonus comes with screenshots highlighting each of the tips on actual eCommerce sites.
As with the first part, the 2nd part introduces simple usability improvements that can have a big impact on conversion rates and sales for eCommerce sites. These tips are based on usability best practices and usability testing sessions and results I’ve received on many, many web sites over the past decade.
Here’s a quick listing of the tips, the details are in the article:
- Follow the order of the typical steps of a buy-flow
- Don’t place extraneous non-sales content between users and products
- Always show product photos
- Always show price discount savings
- Remove obvious errors and omissions
I hope you find these tips helpful, if so, please let me know. And if not, well, ok, go ahead and let me know that too (but I’m hoping for more of the “helpful” category let-me-knows!).
